Supporting Parents of Children with Intellectual Disability
Are you feeling overwhelmed?
Having a child diagnosed with Intellectual Disability (ID) can be confusing and isolating.
One often gets conflicting advice - yet parents are clear: they want to see their child progress.
You are not alone: Our organisation is parent-led… it means that we have been there before! We have formed a volunteers network to support and help each other with the best possible advice - the one that works!
One of the many things that help us is to understand what keeps us going and what resources we can access to accelerate our child's progress.
Below are some ideas for you:
Our gift to you
Because we do so much for our children and family, we often forget to take care of ourselves…
So here is our gift to you: A Mindful Parent Colouring Book to relax and reflect about ways to build on your child’s and family’s strengths page after page, drawing after drawing!
Parents like you share their tips
We have interviewed parents like you and collated their stories into size bite learning stories.
Listen to their ideas and success stories in creating the progress they want for their children.
Now & Next
Now & Next is an award-winning online program for parents and carers to achieve positive learning and relationship outcomes for their child and the entire family.
